Repair Affected Files To repair affected files Close all affected files. Open affected files will not be repaired. Under Files to Clean, select affected files. Annotative objects may have multiple scale representations. When you select this option, annotative objects are decomposed and scale representations are saved in an anonymous block to separate layers, which are named based on their original layer and appended with a number.
Under New Scale List, in the drop-down list, select a scale list template. NOTE: Each scale list template contains a different scale list. When you run this utility, unused scales are deleted from files and the scale list from the selected template is applied. If desired, change the scale list threshold. NOTE: The scale list threshold determines the minimum number of scales a file must contain in order to be repaired.
The default scale list threshold is As I understand things, the service pack will fix the Annotation Scaling Issue moving forward. In other words it will prevent it from happening again, but will not go back and fix the drawings it has messed up.
Since the straight AutoCAD service pack has been out for a little while now, you can probably expect the vertical service packs to follow shortly. But even still the better question remains? What seems to happen is the buffer for that dialog is exceeded and throws an error if your drawing has too many Annotation Scales. Enter option [? Like many AutoCAD users, we rely heavily on external references, and thus this issue has become incredibly common.

I just found this solution to a similar problem in AutoCAD , seems the bug has re-appeared… Resetting the list from the dialog box does not fix the problem.

The script above is what you would input as the macro. JeffB — Any of the scales not removed are in use. And wow, what a disappointment to see that there were apparently not any improvements in AutoCAD , just a new GUI to get used to madness!
It may be a little overzealous of a solution, but that makes the fix run automatically for each drawing that is opened in AutoCAD. Just a thought.
I recently had this issue after I did some display adjustments to my dual monitor set up at work. The dialogue box reappeared. I left it open in the middle of the screen, switched back my main display and it still appeared. Sorry this is an old thread but I was having a similar issue with Autocad on Windows 10 and dual screens.
When I tried to edit a custom scale I couldn't see the Scalelistedit dialogue box. I tried the Alt Space then M but still couldn't see the dialogue box. Under Windows 10 settings then system there's an option to rearrange displays, mine was shown as ''. I swapped the highlighted 1st monitor so that the arrangement was ''. Then in Autocad when I edit a custom scale the dialogue box showed on the 2nd monitor and I repositioned it onto the 1st monitor.
When I swapped the monitors back to '' and clicked the edit custom scale, the dialogue box appeared as expected. I don't think any thread is OLD if you learn from it.. Even if you have to post something to get out of it what you might need. I'm sorry if anybody or everybody disagrees but I'm going to figure out what I need in order to correctly perform the functions I want to perform. I'd like to think everyone was like that but just from being in other forums I know that's not always the case.
